VADODARA: Citizens wanting to make their complaints or raise other issues with the top brass of the city police at the Police Bhavan will no longer have to wait for long hours. The city police are coming up with a facilitation centre for such persons.
The 'single window' system to be started at the Police Bhavan will not only accept complaints, it will also provide feedback regarding the progress on these.

A toll-free phone number will also be provided to citizens so that they can contact the centre for the progress regarding their applications.
Vadodara commissioner of police (CP) Satish Sharma said that at times applicants have to wait for a long time to meet him. "The window will take care of this problem and they can simply hand over the complaint or application there. They will be able to find out what happened with it by coming to the facility personally or over the toll-free phone number," Sharma said.
Sharma said that those persons who made repeated trips to the police stations, but were unable to meet an officer there could also use the facility. Those who are unsatisfied with the progress on their complaints at the police stations can also use the window.
The CP said that the new facility would expedite the process of clearing such applications or complaints. Sharma added that he would monitor the process through daily reports sent to him. Works like firearm licences would also be handled through the window. Aspirants for such documents can submit applications at the window. These will be processed subsequently and the citizens will be given replied over the phone or at the centre.
